It is great to see the re-opening of the diner on Route 8 in New Berlin. Shuttered for quite some time, the diner opened a couple months ago, giving new life to the building that a former owner said was built back in 1940, in Pennsylvania.
The building has done some traveling, being transported to various work sites where it would serve up hot meals to construction workers. It eventually landed in Oneonta for a time, before being moved to its current spot just north of the village.
We sometimes drive Route 8 south to Deposit, and then take Route 17 east toward New York City. So we now have a place to stop along the way.
